Honoring a Legacy of Jazz Journalism

This year, we are thrilled to commemorate the 30th anniversary of All About Jazz, the world's first, oldest, and largest jazz-focused website. Founded in 1995 by Michael Ricci, All About Jazz has been a cornerstone in the jazz community, providing a platform for news, reviews, interviews, and articles that celebrate the rich tapestry of jazz music.

A Visionary's Journey

Michael Ricci, a Philadelphia native with a deep-seated passion for both jazz and technology, launched All About Jazz as a labor of love. Combining his interests in music and computer programming, Ricci created a space where jazz enthusiasts could connect, learn, and stay

informed about the evolving jazz scene.

A Legacy of Excellence

Over the decades, All About Jazz has garnered numerous accolades, including being named the Best Website Covering Jazz by the Jazz Journalists Association for thirteen consecutive years between 2003 and 2015. At its peak in 2007, the site attracted 1.3 million readers monthly, underscoring its influential role in the jazz world.

Continued Impact

Beyond its extensive content, All About Jazz has fostered a global community of jazz lovers, musicians, and industry professionals. The site continues to thrive, adapting to the digital age while maintaining its commitment to jazz journalism.

Join Us in the Celebration

As we honor this monumental milestone, our festivals—Griffith Park Rebel Jazz Fest and [+]AZZ-IS Rebel Jazz Fest—stand as tributes to the enduring spirit of jazz. These events not only showcase emerging and established talent but also celebrate the rich history and ongoing evolution of jazz, a journey that All About Jazz has chronicled and championed for three decades.
